As a result of a recent faculty meeting at Yale, I'm pondering the roles of expert versus colleague and judger versus supporter

This arose out of a conversation about how the Yale School of Drama's Theater Management program supports the field (theater management) rather than judges or tests it. This made me wonder if the Western analytical model is too focused on judging and criticizing? Should we move more toward support? But then how do we determine better or worse or excellence?
